TASS will show the work of more than 250 reporters at a photo exhibition at the Manege

From 1 to 24 November in the Central exhibition hall "Manege" will develop the cultural-educational project "Key personnel", organized by the Russian news Agency "TASS".

In many respects the future exposition will be unique. For the first time in one exhibition space, the TASS will present more than thousands of pictures in which more than 250 photographers, who worked in the Agency in different years of the last century. The exhibition spans almost a century starting with the 1920-ies of the last century, and brings together 20 sections that reflect the different sides of life: from space exploration and the Arctic to the fashion and the theatrical stage.

In addition, the exhibition will feature pictures taken in the third Millennium: from 2000-ies to the present day. Portraits and landscapes, festivals and concerts, critical facilities construction projects certificate of Russian achievements in various fields of science and technology – all that lives the country in the age of digital photography.

The exposition was a result of large-scale, which has no analogues in the Russian media of the project: during the 2015-2016 TASS digitized and systematized its unique photo archive, which includes more than 850 thousand images from the early twentieth century.

According to Director General of TASS Sergey Mikhailov, the Agency's photo archive is a biography of the whole country, including all stages of its development, an invaluable testimony to the historic events. "Today there is growing interest in our past, the desire to understand how the country lived and what inspired people to great achievements of which we are all proud of. And photography is the most honest and impartial instrument able to clearly convey the spirit of the age. A rich exhibition experience, TASS has allowed us to make an unprecedented art project, giving the viewer the opportunity to establish a living link with the awesome past, to feel part of a great history. We show what nobody has seen", – said Mikhailov.

In the "Main frames" viewers will see unknown works by famous photographers of TASS, Yevgeny khaldei, Mark Redkin, Vladimir Musaelyan, Valentine Cherdintseva and many other masters. In addition, the exhibition will feature photos taken by the correspondent of the Agency from different regions of Russia and former Soviet republics – Turkmenistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and others. A large part of the presented frames has never been published.

To convey the unique atmosphere of the past will help not only the original design solutions and modern multimedia technology, but also historical exhibits TASS. About creating famous shots can be heard from the photographers themselves-the veterans of the TASS using the technology of "sound shower".

The curator of the exhibition "Key personnel" became Nina Gomiashvili, whose experience, knowledge and taste is highly appreciated by the professional community. Exhibitions she organized were a success not only in Russia but also in USA, France, and Switzerland.

The entrance to the exhibition is free. Next year, TASS is planning to show its collection in other cities of Russia and the world.
